Held at the outdoor Gorge Amphitheatre, the Paradiso Festival takes over one of the Pacific Northwest’s most beautiful venues for a full weekend at the end of June. Overlooking the Columbia River Gorge, this is the perfect spot to soak in the sounds of EDM for 12 straight hours every day. With three superstar-packed stages featuring the likes of Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, Skrillex and other EDM icons on rotation, we guarantee you’ll get your fill of dance music and then some.
CENTER OF GRAVITY
Happening right on the shores of Lake Okanagan, the Center of Gravity beach festival combines music and sports into one massive party. Watch as 150 pro athletes compete in wakeboarding, BMX, motocross and more, then check out the killer concert lineup: From Flo Rida to world famous deejay Diplo, there’s something for every musical taste. Highlights include Atmosphere, house prodigy Deorro, Zeds Dead, Aussie EDM duo Knife Party and sicker-than-sick Will Sparks. Also keep an eye out for Vancouver’s very own rockstar violinist Kytami. Combining classic fiddling with dubstep and hip hop, this girl-on-the-rise is not to be missed!
As one of the pioneers in the underground electronica scene, Shambhala has been holding strong since 1998. Hosted on a private farm in the tiny town of Salmo, this fest brings together internationally renowned deejays and up-and-coming electronic artists on six themed stages. Amid the horses and hayfields found in this corner of Southeastern BC, you can check out the likes of Skrillex, Kygo, DJ Jazzy Jeff (Fresh Prince in the house!), Pretty Lights and Mix Master Mike. Combine that with art, good grub and a river running through the festival grounds, and you’ve got the makings of one epic weekend.
Summer doesn’t last forever (sob), and Seattle’s multiday musical extravaganza known as Bumbershoot signifies the official end of summer. Taking place over the Labour Day weekend, this party at the Space Needle features an eclectic lineup including legendary rockers Cake, pop princess Ellie Goulding, Flosstradamus, Keys N Krates and white-hot Irish singer Hozier. With Canada’s very own The Weeknd joining Chance the Rapper, Zedd, Bassnectar and too many more to count, this is one of Bumbershoot’s best lineups in years.
